Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra on Wednesday said the provincial government is in consultation with the National Command and Operations Centre to take action against people who have refused Covid jabs.
Speaking to the media, Jhagra said, “we have reports pertaining to people denying Covid vaccination across the province and in order to make it compulsory, we are thinking to block various state provided services such as ID cards and sims.
He added that as the delta variant is on the rise in the province, they are consulting with the NCOC on taking action against the education sector.
Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Muhammad Asim has also revealed that the Indian variant is on the rise in the provincial capital.
“We are requesting residents to adopt precautionary measures and also get vaccinated,” he said. “We are also working with the provincial government on taking tougher measures against unvaccinated visitors and denying them hospital services including treatment at the out-patient departments throughout the province.”

Peshawar has seen a spike in cases since early this week.
The ratio of the positive cases reported on a daily basis would soon compel the K-P government to adopt the aforementioned measures as people don’t take responsibility at their end and all the burden falls on frontline health workers and hospitals.
