According to police officials, Kahror Pakka resident landlord Manzoor Ahmed killed his servant Muhammad Yousuf for having developed relations with his daughter. Manzoor told police Yousuf had been working at his house for the past ten years. “He came here when he was a boy and he grew up working for me,” he said.
“When my daughter said she wanted to marry him I found out what was happening and I had to make an example of him,” he told police officials.
A servant at the house said that Ahmed’s daughter and Yousuf had grown up playing together and fell in love.
“When Yousuf feared Ahmed would find out he left his job and began working for Aslam Warraich in a neighbouring village,” the servant said.
“Ahmed’s men followed him and brought him back and then he killed him and put the body outside the gate for everyone to see,” she said.
He was missing for three days and his family members went to Manzoor’s house and inquired about him, police officials said.
Residents in the village said that three days ago Ahmed’s men brought Yousuf to his dera in the middle of the night.
“They held him in a room and beat him till he was near dead.
Then Ahmed brought him outside and called us all to watch him slit his throat,” said a village resident Muhammad Baloch. “He said that this was what happened to anyone who attacked his honour,” he said.
The landlord told police that he called Yousuf to his house three days ago and mixed intoxicants in his food and later slaughtered him. Saddar police recovered the body from the house and recorded Manzoor’s statement. “We have taken Manzoor Ahmed into custody and registered a case against him.
He has openly announced his crime and dozens of people saw him kill Yousuf. He said he had no regrets and that Yousuf deserved death for dishonouring his family and his daughter,” police inspector Muhammad Naz said.

@Maria: you go girl!...that's more like it. well spoken
@Ranjit: Maybe you need to remind yourself that raping low caste women and parading them naked is common practice in Indian states. When low caste man does something to a Brahmin, how do they fix him in India and how often it happens? Much more than in Pakistan- this is why we don;t want to be part of Gandhi's country . Now you enjoy the country Gandhi make for you!
@omg i agree with u..
@Amir: Why not take your logic one step further? India should never have been made independent by the British. They should stay a colony like they were when the British made it. Since you are against freedom for Pakistan and Sri Lanka or Nepal, why should India be given freedom in your logic?
The Lnad lord is probably some normal guy with a tiny patch of land and One room house. Like the one where Mukhtara Mais assailants, I am from kahror Pakka and I have never head of the Landlords name.
@Ranjit: Why don't you tell us the full story of women being raped, beaten and paraded naked in the villages and streets of all Indian cities? You come hear to spout your hate against Pakistan when you know that your caste violence and poverty in India is far worse than anything we have in Pakistan. Why don't you comment on the practice of Satti which was banned by the British where Indian women were expected to burn themselves on their husband's funeral pires. You think you can cleverly come to a Pakistani newspaper and badmouth Pakistan while the daily abuse that women suffer in India is far worse! Instead of accepting that you were wrong you want to celebrate a low caste Indian woman who was raped by high caste Hindus in Utter Pradesh? Maybe you can put your own spin on the abuse of kids and women in Slumdog Millionaire or how over 400 million Indians don't have access to outdoor toilets. Why don't you curse your own founder Gandhi instead of casting aspersions over the founder of Pakistan? We can all see through your clever Indian games.
@Amjad:
Why don't you tell the whole story of Bandit Queen? At least the Bandit Queen Phoolan Devi killed 20 upper caste men in the village she got raped. And then she went to jail and got elected to Parliament. Her end, however, was violent. But I am sure she was aware she will be shot dead because she killed a lot of people.
Can any Pakistani woman ever be Phoolan Devi? Can Mukhtaran Mai ever get justice in Islamic Republic of Pakistan? Can Mukhtaran Mai or any woman emulate Phoolan Devi?
Mayawati, a Dalit woman, is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, a state with more than 180 million people (more than Pakistan's population). And she was elected by every caste in UP. Is there a woman like Mayawati in Pakistan?
@sunny: @Ranjhit
Pakistan and Bangladesh should never have been created. There should of been one Country for Muslims and Hindus to live together and work out their differences. If these borders were never created then WE would be one of the MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY in this day and age. sigh
@Ranjit: Right, the land reforms that have resulted in over 250,000 'Indian farmers' committing suicide? Please, clean your own back yard before talking about ours. Thanks.
@Ranjit: Maybe you should say that Gandhi created India so that high caste Hindus could parade low class women naked on the streets of Utter Pradesh and other Indian states. Ever watch the movie Bandit Queen? I hope this criminal land lord is charged and served justice by Pakistani courts but can you say the same for your India? Think before you make unwarranted comments against Pakistan.
There is a dead lover in Vehari and u are setting public policy on Lands?? OMG wakee wakee @omg!:
A-Ha! IT'S A CRIME OF PASSION THEN... but what's this " Landlord/rental payments/police and old Bhutonian rhetoric"??
Why do the people, like this landlord, allow such affairs to be developed if they are so-called honorable people.Why did he persisted with the same servant when he was stepping into the dangerous teen age.
@Adil: Previously this piece of advice would have been revolting. Now seeing the changing situation in the last two decades, your suggestion is most welcome and hospitable. Please accept my Salams for a better Pakistan.
P.S. Ayub Khan did land reforms. 500 acre per person. Further more 300 per acre under Bhuttos Era. Its still a lot. If a family consist of 10 persons. It makes 3000 acres.
Jinnah's siiblings, and their sons are not in politics. Just because they were from Bombay. And had no land in Sindh or mills in Punjab. On the other hand, Bhutto was a feudal lord, and thats why he conquered against Iqbals kid and Jinnahs sister. Later on, her daughter, and now his nonsense son-in-law is President of Pakistan.
A few days ago, grand son of Jinnah died in target killing in Karachi. His nephews and niece are living utter poor life in Karachi. Thats because Feudal system. Similar the case of Hina Rabbani Khar, a kid of Khar family, another feudal lord.
And you say its Jinnah's Pakistan. We all are responsible for this.
Unbelievable !! Barbaric !! The last piece of news you'd like to wake up to after independence day celebrations....
I wish Jinnah had accepted British dominion - of the likes of canada and australia. The 'gora' oversight may have prevented Pakistan from ending up where it is now...
Sad to the point that I hate to call myself Pakistani.....wish I was given the right to choose my nationality
Totally inhuman......a test case for our criminal justice system to give a speedy verdict and convict this monster before this story fades away from our news @Homa....."Jihadi Arab attitudes".....no need to blame the poor arabs for this.....these are our very own "indigenous" criminals and this has happened for centuries in Sindh, Balochistan and rural Punjab......this is what our feudal culture is all about....it is only now that these gory incidents are being highlighted in the media with the hope of bringing about some positive change....
Hopeless basket case!
Jihadi arab attitudes have percolated every part of Pakistani social life.
Lets see how much money our police can make from this case too.
@Ranjit: Please do not blame others for someone elses crimes! Jinnah has never been quoted for honoring such deed nor has ever promoted such acts. Yes this act was heinous in many ways, the doer should be punished and blamed for what he is.
He can never have a fair trail in his village. He owns the judge, the jury, the police and all the so called upholders of the law. The only way to serve justice is to move the trail to a big city with media coverage.
Geez. instead of focusing on the issue of a poor guy being killed, lack of human rights in the country, most of the readers here are starting to target Poor Ranjit. Give me a break fellow Pakistanis - try focusing on what the issue here is instead of being quick to accuse Ranjit or any other non-Pakistani. disgusting.
Just another guy that earned first class ticket to hell. When will Pakistan get rid of these murderers, only God knows. May the 'servant's' soul be at peace.
@Ranjit: while your point that the feudals have had a heyday in Pakistan is valid, your basis that this is why Jinnah created Pakistan is wrong. Muslim leaders in undivided India sought protection and constitutional guarantees for the significant Muslim minority which the Hindu leaders did not accommodate. The Hindu leaders did not reject the demands altogether either, they wanted to enter into the discussion phase after the Independence in a democratic manner. Muslim leaders did not want to take a chance and face what the Kashmiris are facing now. Do not draw simplistic conclusions, instead read up on these issues. A good starting point would be the recent book by Jaswant Singh Sahib on the Partition. And if you want to go further then read "India wins freedom" by the then Congress' President Abul Kalam Azad.
@ranjit Please dont involve Mr. Jinnah. he created Pakistan earnestly with an islamic idea -- make a free country for the muslims of India. However, you are absolutely right that fuedals here took full advantage of the creation of Pakistan. see Sardars in Baluchistans, Khans in KP, Chaudhris in Punjab and Waderas of Sindh are the real beneficiaries and ruling their "awam" with an iron hand. No land reforms like India are expected here atleast next 50 years. Pakistan need a French style revolution.
@Ranjit:
Take care of honour killings in India first. And don't try to poke your nose in others' matters.
This landlord should be hanged in public so he's made an example for hurting our honour in being human beings!
This why Jinnah created Pakistan. If you don't get what I say let me elaborate. Pakistan was created for Muslim Zamindar to keep their vast land holding and treat their workers like slaves. In India because of land reforms they would have lost their lands and would not have been able to do waht they wanted.
