Old enmity claims two lives
Two persons were allegedly murdered due to old enmity in the city on Tuesday.
Police said opponents opened fire, killing a lawyer's security guard. The lawyer was rushed to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in a critical condition.
According to the police report, Advocate Muzammil, the son of Ahmed and resident of 396GB was returning to the district court with his security guard Muzammil Yaqub, the son of Yaqub and resident of 354GB.
When they reached near Jalla Mor, Tandlianwala area, the armed suspects opened fire on the car of the advocate. As a result of the incident, the lawyer and his security guard suffered serious bullet injuries. They were shifted to a hospital where Yaqub succumbed to his injuries.

Soon after the attack on the advocate, lawyers of Tandlianwala Bar Association went on strike and reached the hospital. Saddar Tandlianwala police shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem and started raids to arrest the named suspects.
According to the police, the injured advocate had an enmity for 18 years and his opponents had attacked him.
Separately, 45-year-old Noor Ahmed, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, was on his way home on his motorcycle near 586GB area of Landianwala when three of his opponents opened fire on him. The victim sustained serious injuries.
He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. After the victim's death, his heirs protested the incident and blocked Bachiana Jaranwala Road. The protest went on for several hours. Later, Jaranwala DSP Jamshed Iqbal Nasir Chishti and other senior police officers reached the spot and negotiated with the heirs of the slain. Police assured them for speedy arrest on which the protestors dispersed.
