Nearly 1,400 new Covid cases detected

Another 425 persons also regained health overnight, bringing the number of recoveries in Sindh  to 358,060

Sindh reported nearly 1,400 coronavirus infections and 26 more fatalities on Sunday. According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s House, 1,399 new cases emerged when 19,059 samples were tested for the contagion.

The provincial pandemic death toll and tally of confirmed infections thus far rose to 6,439 and 412,148, respectively, said CM Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Another 425 persons also regained health overnight, bringing the number of recoveries in Sindh thus far to 358,060, he added. As many as 46,649 patients were under treatment for the virus as of Sunday, said Shah.

Of them, 45,193 were in home isolation, 1,419 at different hospitals and 37 patients at isolation centres. The condition of 1,256 patients was stated to be critical, with at least 90 shifted to ventilators.

Of the 1,399 new cases, 830 were detected in Karachi. Shah said 145 new cases were reported in Hyderabad, 55 NawabShah, 45 Badin, 40 Jamshoro, 37 Matiari, 33 Tharparkar, 33 Sanghar, 27 Karachi West, 23 Mirpurkhas, 21 Umarkot, 18 Shikarpur, 13 Sukkur, 12 Sujawal, 12 Thatta, 11 Khairpur, 10 Tando Muhammad Khan, 10 Ghotki, eight Larkana, five Dadu, four Jacobabad, three Kashmore, two Tando Allahyar and Noushehro Feroze reported one new case.
