Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Saturday noted that the youth and children were the future of Pakistan and called for making the future generations aware of the historic struggle that was carried out for the independence of the country.
He expressed these views while addressing a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Independence Day celebrations at the Balochistan Assembly.
Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, provincial ministers, provincial assembly members and other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
The chief minister maintained that freedom was a gift of God and the nation should value it, adding that the importance of independence could only be understood by those who were deprived of it.
He urged the people to have a forward-looking approach and to not repeat the mistakes of the past as they had cost a country a lot.
“Every person should be committed to serve the country.”
He said the purpose of celebrating the Independence Day was to make a pledge to make Pakistan a better and prosperous country and highlighted the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
“The nation should have a collective spirit to help each other,” he said, adding that the people of Kashmir, Afghanistan and Palestine were waiting for their “freedom”.
