Head clerk transferred to another college after female colleague lodged a harassment complaint against him

A case has been registered against over 15 persons, including a former head clerk of Dhok Syedan Women College for assaulting and threatening the director of colleges. The head clerk was enraged after he was transferred to another college after a female colleague lodged a harassment complaint against him.

Director of Colleges (DOC), Hafiz Fazlur Rehman, lodged a complaint in City Police Station on July 29. He said a junior clerk of the college DA* lodged a complaint against Chaudhry Abrar for misbehaving and harassing her. At the victim’s request, the head clerk was transferred to Gujjar Khan Boys College.

The head clerk tried to use influence to get himself transferred back to the previous college, but the director refused to accept him back, after which the offender stormed his office with over 15 accomplices on August 10. When the director’s personal assistant and office staff tried to come to his rescue, the assailants also attacked them.

The director said Abrar abused him and threatened to kill him.

The police said that a case has been registered, and the matter is being investigated.

Meanwhile, an education department committee is conducting an internal inquiry in the harassment case of the female clerk.
