Accused refuses to confess

A man accused of sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl was arrested in the Nawan Killi area of Quetta on Wednesday.

Police surgeons have sent blood samples of the girl and the accused person for laboratory tests. The girl whose identity has not been disclosed due to security reasons was playing outside her house before her neighbour identified as Sarfaraz took the child to his home for some work. This is when the unfortunate incident took place.

When the girl returned home, her mother found her crying and immediately informed her father, who rushed her to the civil hospital for medical examination and subsequently also informed the police. The police registered a report of the incident and formed an investigation team that has started searching for the accused person.

Sarfaraz was arrested after raids were conducted by the police at various places.

Preliminary examination revealed signs of child abuse and violence on the body of the seven-year-old. Further investigation into the case is underway. The police and the child’s family also await the medical examination report which will form the basis of the entire sexual assault case.

Sarfaraz refused to confess or answer any question upon being questioned by the police about the horrific sexual assault on the child.
