Another doctor lost his life on Sunday due to Covid19 at a private hospital in Abbottabad, taking the number of deaths of doctors to 69 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
According to details, Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) Pathology Deputy Director Dr Ahsanul Haq tested positive three days ago and was later admitted to ATH in a critical condition where he was put on a ventilator.
However, he could not fight against the deadly virus. The funeral prayer of Dr Haq was offered at Commerce College Abbottabad where a large number of people from all walks of life were present.
Dr Haq had also received both shots of the Covid-19 vaccine well before his death. K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Dr Haq and condoled with the family of the late doctor. He also appreciated the services of doctors and paramedical staff during the coronavirus outbreak.
In a press statement of the Doctor's Association, it was disclosed that after the death of Dr Haq, the total number of doctor's death in K-P has reached 69. Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, 226 patients were reported during the last 24 hours in the district with 70 belonging to Rawal Town, 58 from Potohar town, 61 from Rawalpindi Cantt, six from Gujar Khan, three from Kahuta, eight from Kotli Sattian, 16 from Murree and one from Kallar Syedan.
District Health Authority updated that so far 1,494,024 people, including 38,497 health workers and 1,455,527 senior citizens, have received jabs against the lethal coronavirus across the district since the vaccination administering drive launched on March 10.
The report said that 3,583 were quarantined with 1,846 at homes and 1,737 in isolation centres while five patients were on ventilators in critical condition, 65 were stable and 95 were on oxygen, the report informed. It added that the positivity ratio during the past 24 hours was recorded at 12.83 per cent in the district.
Moreover, around 244,970 Covid-19 suspects have been brought to the district's health facilities so far out of which 30,577 have tested positive, including 28,248 from Rawalpindi and 2,329 from other districts who were provided with the required treatment.
Presently, 167 positive patients are admitted to various facilities of the city with 31 at Holy Family Hospital, 22 at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, 59 at Institute of Urology, 40 at Fauji Foundation Hospital, four each at Begum Akhtar Memorial Trust and District Headquarter Hospital, three at Bilal Hospital while two each were admitted at Hearts International and Attock Hospital.
