By-elections in Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly 4 Nagar-1 constituency will be held on Sunday. Polling in the constituency will continue from 8am to 5 pm where tough competition is expected between the candidates of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
In G-B 2020 general elections, PPP’s provincial president Amjad Hussain was elected MLA from LA-4 district Nagar 1 but later, he vacated the seat. On Saturday, DIG Gilgit Range Dr Mian Muhammad Saeed visited GBA-4 Nagar-1 and reviewed the security arrangements for the by-polls.

He expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the law enforcement personnel and also directed them to provide foolproof security during the month of Muharram.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Nagar Ishaq Hussain reiterated his commitment that he would spare no effort to make the by-elections transparent and peaceful.
