Two held for ‘harassing’ tourist family

CPO says harassment and manhandling of tourists will not be tolerated

RAWALPINDI:

The police arrested two people who harassed a tourist family and harassed women near Pindi point.

Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younis took notice of the incident after receiving closed-circuit camera (CCTV) footage. He had tasked the SHO of the related police station to book the suspects.

Following the orders, two suspects identified as Haris and Taimur were arrested by the police. Haris is a local transporter, while Taimur is his partner. The police registered the case on the behalf of the administration as the family didn’t report the incident.

The CPO said that harassment and fighting with tourist families would not be tolerated at any cost. He said that the protection of people visiting Murree was their priority and they would ensure it.

CPO said that the police would register a case against such incidents even if the victims weren’t going to report them.
