A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday dismissed the bail petitions of Zahir Jaffer's parents in the Noor Mukadam murder case. Additional Sessions Judge Sheikh Muhammad Sohail announced the court reserved judgement.
On Wednesday, a district and sessions court in Islamabad had reserved the verdict on a bail plea by the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the key suspect in the murder of Noor Mukadam, the 27-year-old daughter of a former Pakistani diplomat. Noor was found beheaded at a residence in Islamabad’s upscale Sector F-7/4 on July 20.
Zahir was arrested on the day of the murder and remained in police custody on physical remand until Monday when he was sent on 14-day judicial remand to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. He will next be presented again before a judicial magistrate on August 16.

Meanwhile, the friend of Zahir Jaffer's parent, Sania Sattar, said that they want justice to prevail in the case as well as condemn the incident in the same capacity.
Addressing a presser in Islamabad, she urged that the whole family should not be blamed for Zahir's act. Sania said Zahir's parents would have talked directly if they had been bailed, adding that what happened with the suspect's parents was regrettable.
She stated that around 10 friends were with Asmat Adamjee in Karachi on July 29. Sania said she wished nobody got to see the time that Asmat and Zakir went through because of Zahir's drug addiction.
