Neighbours catch, thrash paedophile

A man was allegedly caught naked trying to rape a 10-year-old girl in a room next to his shop in the Madina Colony area of Khokhrapar on Friday.
The child had gone to the neighbourhood shop to buy some candy, when the shopkeeper lured her into his small room behind the racks. Luckily, the child’s grandfather sitting in the lane, saw her enter the shop, instead of buying the goods from the roadside counter.

Alarmed by the rising incidents of child abuse, he raised a hue and cry on which neighbourhood people stormed the store where they found the suspect naked, with the child cowering in a corner. He was given a sound thrashing before being handed over to the local police.
Separately, a 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide over a domestic issue in Baldia Town. According to police, the family of the deceased gave the statement that he strangulated himself after a quarrel at home. However, the police are conducting further investigation into all aspects of the incident.
