Teenager kills roommate who tried to ‘rape’ him

Victim and accused are from Bajaur, sell green tea kahwa in new Sabzi Mandi

KARACHI:

Police have arrested a 16-year old boy for killing his roommate, 52-year-old Muhammad Hashim, who allegedly tried to rape him at their single-room quarter in the Janjal Goth area near Super Highway.

SITE Super Highway Police Station SHO Imam Bakhsh said that according to the confessional statement of the boy, Hashim tried to rape him.

Meanwhile, the teenager tried to scare him away with a knife, but Hashim tried to grab the knife, which hit him and he died, while the boy got injured in the scuffle. SHO Bakhsh said the victim and the accused are from Bajaur and they sell green tea kahwa in the new Sabzi Mandi. The murder suspect alleged that the victim had tried to rape him earlier too.

Police however are investigating the matter from various angles, the SHO said.

Separately, Robbers on motorcycles near North Karachi Nagan Chowrangi Flyover shot and injured 28-year-old Muhammad Umair on resistance during a robbery.
