KARACHI:

A squabble broke out in Saddar area on Tuesday when wrongly parked motorcycles were being impounded.

An FIR was subsequently lodged at the Preedy Police Station against three shopkeepers of the Saddar Mobile Market on the complaint of a traffic police official. According to the police, a forklift operator and the traffic police were at the mobile market to impound two motorcycles wrongly parked. However, three persons interrupted the process and started beating up the traffic officials. A purported video of the incident also made rounds on social media.

On the other hand, Karachi Electronic Dealers Association President Rizwan Irfan said it was the forklifter and his aides who attacked the shopkeepers first. A one-sided version of the incident is being reported, said Irfan, adding that the shopkeepers only responded in retaliation to the forklifter’s behaviour.
