A surge is being witnessed in coronavirus cases in Punjab after Eid holidays.
Official statistics indicate that 457 new coronavirus cases were surfaced and 20 citizens lost battle against the deadly virus in Punjab during past 24 hours.
Official data issued by the Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Department (P&SHD) showed that six coronavirus related deaths were also reported in provincial capital after total number of causalities reaches 10,964 in the province.
Following increase in number of coronavirus cases, the P&SHD Secretary Sara Aslam, on Tuesday, issued special standard operating procedures (SOPs) for different sectors and appealed citizens to follow precautionary measures to contain the spread of the disease.

She underscored that vaccination was the only remedy against coronavirus and all adult citizens should get coronavirus vaccine at the earliest. She asked citizens to avoid unnecessary movement at public places.
She revealed that total coronavirus positivity rate has touched 2.5% in the province and 3.6% in Lahore. The coronavirus positive test rate has been recorded at 2.2% in Faisalabad, 1.4% in Bahawalpur and 0.8% in Multan. After which total number of coronavirus cases have been reached 353,695 which 331,222 patients have been recovered from the viral disease.
