Shah Hussain, who was convicted of stabbing Khadija Siddiqui – a law student – 23 times, was recently released from prison after three and half years, much earlier than his sentence, which was supposed to last five years.
Activists and members of the civil society took to social media to condemn his release, which was a result of “relaxation in his sentence”. While Jibran Nasir argued that the government should not have and cannot extend the benefit of a remission in sentence to a convict without attaining the consent of the victim, actor Osman Khalid Butt expressed hopelessness for Noor Mukadam after the judiciary let Khadija Siddiqui down.
“Shah Hussain stabbed @khadijasid751 23 times, released from jail after serving 3.5yrs against his 5yr sentence. Can PTI explain how when Govt can’t remit sentence without Khadija’s consent nor does he qualify for good behaviour release given conviction under 324PPC @ShireenMazari1,” the lawyer and a rights activist said in a tweet.

Followin this, Butt called out the state and judiciary for failing its women. Taking to Twitter he wrote, “While the official news (the thoroughness, specifically) regarding Noor's case is encouraging, there is only so much hope we can muster when the state and the judiciary continue to fail the women of our country. The most recent - and shocking - example of this is Shah Hussain.”

The most recent - and shocking - example of this is Shah Hussain.
He then added a news report from a local TV channel to enlighten his followers about the updates.
Netizens have also expressed their concerns since the news surfaced, asking how Noor Mukadam could get justice in a society where criminals like Hussain are released before even completing their sentence. “Hall of shame for our judicial system,” tweeted a user.

Do you really expect justice to come true in #NoorMukaddam case while witnessing a culprit #Shahhussain being released after spending only 3.5y in jail for stabbing Khadija for 23 times? Do you still trust the justice system of this country, as a woman? Guess not!
