PDA assistant director gunned down

PESHAWAR:

An Assistant Director of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), Junaid Akbar, was gunned down by unknown miscreants in Charsadda.

Lodging an FIR with police, the complainant Mujeeb Alam stated that he was present at his residence when someone called him and told him that his brother Junaid had been shot and taken to hospital by his father in law.

“When I reached the hospital I saw him laying dead on the hospital bed. He visited the residence of his father-in-law and when he left his residence for home some one opened firing at him, killing him on the spot,” he stated in the FIR, saying that they had no feud with any one. Police registered an FIR in the case and started investigation. The body was sent for autopsy and then handed over to the family for burial.

Junaid Akbar had a Phd from University of Engineering, Peshawar and was working as Assistant Director, PDA. He was engaged and the family was giving final touches to his marriage preparations.
