People say I resemble Madhubala and Rani Mukherji, says Javeria Saud

The actor's statements were met with fierce trolling on social media

In a recently resurfaced interview with morning show host Nida Yasir, Pakistani actor Javeria Saud divulged that she has often been told she resembles legendary Bollywood actor Madhubala of Mughal-e-Azam fame, as well as 90s Bollywood sweetheart Rani Mukherji.

While several social media users were quick to troll the Nand actor for comparing herself to such accomplished actors from across the border, some users stressed the importance of individuality and how no two people should ever be compared. A user commented underneath an Instagram post on the statement made by a local news outlet, writing, “She actually does resemble them but not completely.”

However, several users were dead set against the comparison. One comment read, “Haan jee, bilkul resemblance hai but sirf height mein… (Yes, there is indeed a resemblance but only when it comes to height).” Another user wrote, “The people who told her this were simply blind.” One user sent out a message of self-acceptance, writing, “Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Comparisons ends personality but still we compare ourselves.”

The actor recently starred in the web series Aurat Gardi, in which she played the role of a politician. Reflecting on the social media frenzy the show provoked and the general criticism she receives online, Saud shared, “Look, I always say that some people think positively, others think negatively. And artists, especially, are always criticised for everything they do. So, love and positive comments that fill me with motivation, as well as the prayers, are enough.”
