ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered immediate arrest on Monday of the culprits behind the attempted rape of a disabled minor girl after her mother lodged a complaint at the Pakistan Citizen Portal.

According to reports, the mother's complaint, about her daughter being sexually assaulted in Okara, was reported at the portal under the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit (PMDU).

To add salt to injury, the mother also complained of the officer in charge of the investigation demanding her to pay him a bribe.

Taking notice of the assault, the premier directed the authorities to probe the incident and take prompt legal action against the perpetrators.

He further stressed on carrying out a transparent investigation into the matter with a direction to keep the PM Office informed about it.

On the IO's demand for a bribe, the PMDU on the direction of PM Imran asked the District Police Officer (DPO) Okara to take immediate action.

Following the order, the DPO suspended the investigating officer, the PMDU claimed.
