A local cleric was gunned down by unidentified people in Wana, South Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Saturday.
Police told The Express Tribune that the attackers asked the cleric Muhammad Nawaz to come out of his residence and then opened firing at him, leaving him dead on the spot. Previously, he survived two assassination attempts but the third one was successful. The attackers managed to escape after committing the crime.
“This man was a faith healer who gave people amulets and probably because of it he was a constant target,” said police.
It is worth mentioning here that this is the third targeted attack of its nature in Wana in the past few days.

This year 27 people have been killed in targeted attack in South Waziristan tribal district alone.
When contacted Assistant Commissioner (AC) Bashir Ahmad, he said that it was the responsibility of police to check law and order situation in the district.
