The Rawalpindi and Chakala cantonment boards, along with others across the country, have started accepting nomination papers for the elections to be held on September 12. The candidate must not be a defaulter of any institution.
The separate election cells for 20 wards of both cantonment boards of Rawalpindi have also become active. Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Election Cell In-Charge Qaiser Mehmood briefed the candidates about the declaration and documents required to be submitted with nomination papers. The nomination papers will be issued until July 25 while the list of candidates will be issued on July 30.
The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be carried out from July 31 to August 3 while appeals against rejection of candidatures could be filed from August 4 to 7. The appellate authority would wind up all petitions until August 10 while the final list of candidates will be displayed on August 11 followed by the return of nomination papers the next day.
