MUZAFFARABAD:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday once again lashed out at Prime Minister Imran Khan for being a “selected” premier, claiming her party would emerge victorious and “won’t let the ruling PTI rig the elections this time”.

Addressing a rally in Hajeera College Ground in Azad Kashmir, the PML-N leader said the incumbent prime minister would go down in history as a “puppet who stole votes to come to power”.

She claimed that the premier himself had admitted “and told his people that the ‘selectors’ had no choice except him”.

The recent attack is part of her acerbic spate of election campaign rallies in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) ahead of the closely watched polls on July 25 in the state. The PML-N leader said that the former prime minister had not sold his conscience, unlike PM Imran Khan.

“India revoked the autonomous state of Kashmir, Pakistan’s jugular vein, with just a stroke of the pen while PTI was in power,” she lamented, asserting that India could not have dared do so if PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif was in power.

Flaying PM Khan, she said: “Azad Kashmir has pronounced its verdict, no matter what you do.”

She advised the premier against visiting the state, claiming he had no moral ground to face the people after stealing the votes.

The PML-N vice president said that the genuine struggle of a politician is not a selfish quest for the throne, “rather it is to rule the hearts of people”.

“The prime minister has ruined his 22 years struggle for the sake of coming into government,” she said.

She said that Nawaz was in London due to his medical condition, “otherwise, he would have cornered his opponents in the AJK elections”.

On Sunday, addressing a rally in AJK's Hatiyan Bala, Maryam Nawaz said that her party will never allow AJK to become a province.

She laced into PM Imran over what she called making a "deal" over the Kashmir issue and losing the region's case at the international forums.

"Both me and my father have Kashmiri blood in our veins... we will never let [them] make AJK a province," she added.
