Police claim to have recovered a weapon from the possession of the suspect

KARACHI:

A shootout occurred between police and suspects near 13-D in Gulshan-e-Iqbal late at night left a suspect named Mohsin injured and he was arrested soon after the police ‘encounter’.

The police claimed to have recovered a weapon from the possession of the suspect. His two accomplices, however, managed to escape. The man was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

Separately, two highly wanted suspects were injured and ultimately arrested after a police encounter near Premier College in Block-H, North Nazimabad, early on Wednesday morning. The incident took place in the Hyderi police jurisdiction.

The arrested suspects were identified as 45-year-old Nabi Bux, alias Raja, and 24-year-old Ali, son of Ajmal.

SSP Central Malik Murtuza Tabassum shared that the arrested suspects were involved in robbery and murder at a biryani restaurant. On July 3, the suspects robbed the eatery in the Hyderi market police jurisdiction and shot a shopkeeper while fleeing.

The shooting left the victim, who was the nephew of the biryani shop owner, dead.
