After receiving a nation-wide round of applause upon Raqs-e-Bismil’s conclusion, actor Imran Ashraf has hinted at a sequel for the serial.
Taking to his Twitter, where he seems to be spending most of his time lately, Ashraf tweeted, “Would you all like to see Raqs-e-Bismil 2 made? Let me know.” He added the hashtag #RaqseBismil2 and asked his followers to respond with the same.

Following this, fans of the television serial started tweeting to request for a potential second offering. A user wrote, “Imran Bhai, Raqs-e-Bismil 2 should be made but it should also have Moosa and Zohra. The way you and Sarah have said your respective dialogues is not something that could be achieved with any other actors.” Retweeting the same, Ashraf assured that his fans' wish is his command. “If it happens then this is exactly what will happen,” he wrote.

When a user asked if the actor would write the script for the second season, Ashraf corrected them by mentioning the “great Hashim Nadeem.” To introduce the renowned screenwriter to his fans, Ashraf then shared Nadeem’s picture and tweeted, “This is Hashim Nadeem sahib, the great writer of Raqs-e-Bismil and the youngest Pride of Performance holder of Pakistan.”

Raqs-e-Bismil came to a close with over 378 million views. The chemistry between Ashraf’s Moosa and Sarah Khan’s Zohra swept Twitter users off their feet and the actors could not have been happier. Khan’s husband, Falak Shabir, also recorded her reaction after the finale went on-air.
The Sabaat star expressed how elated she felt after viewers appreciated the play for ending on a positive note, following which, several praised the serial, Khan and Ashraf on the micro-blogging site.
The serial saw Ashraf’s character (Moosa) and his onscreen brother Essa, carrying forward their father's patriarchal traditions while oppressing the women of their family to control every aspect of their lives. While Khan played the role of an escort in the garb of a modest and religious woman whose character arch is enlightening.
