Police officials, supported by Frontier Corps(FC)on Saturday claimed finding a large number of arms and ammunition during raids at the residences of Jamil Akbar Bugti, the eldest surviving son of Nawab Akbar Bugti, and former chief minister Humayun Marri in Bugti Boldak in Quetta suburbs.
According to security sources, 133 remote control devices, 4,000 rounds, 100 12-bore rifles, two light machineguns, three hand grenades and 3,000 rounds were seized during the search at the residence of Humayun Marri, former caretaker chief minister and son in-law of former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Bugti.
“The arms and ammunition were hidden in secret cavities inside the house,” official sources claimed.
However, no senior official came forward to address the media about this operation, creating doubts about the authenticity of the seizure.
Talking to media outside his residence after the incident, Jamil Akbar Bugti said police and security personnel used excessive force and flagrantly violated the sanctity of his home.
“The recovery of arms and ammunition is a pathetic set-up,” he said while addressing journalists.
“The raid is meant to pressurise me… my case against a dictator who ruled this country for far too long is still pending before the Balochistan High Court,” he said, referring to former president Pervez Musharraf who is the principal accused in Bugti murder case.

@Mualana Diesel
how we know u did not the one who place device bugti home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the biggest ever seizure of Improvised Explosive Devices in the country, which speaks of the anti-state, anti-people and anti-peace intentions of these people. They shoulkd be ashamed for making people fool. Unfortunate is the apathy of the media and comatose response of police and judiciary. How can a person being accused of hording sinews of terrorism hold a press cionference and still not arrested? Who has been arrested? Its a shame that in spite of being dealt with Anti Terrorsts Law the offenders are accusing the government.
Good stuff... Show these Baloch fuedals they aren't no mafia dons like they think and they cannot do as they please. Serious reality check for them and their evil intensions with such sophisticated weapons has been stopped :
@mirza and others.....Are you disputing that arms and other devices have been recovered from Bugti's house? If you are then do you have credible evidence that this isn't so? If you have evidence then please do show if you do not have evidence then you are no different than the thousand others who blame blackwater for everything in Pakistan. There is no hidden secret that there is low intensity terrorism in Baluchistan perpetuated by Baluch nationalists. After all they are being supplied with weapons and it is the job of the law enforcement agencies to find out where these weapons are.
Courts are active and alive. There are laws to address almost all the matters. Then why does it take the governement / agencies to resort to violent tactics and use of force instead of taking them to the court of law.
Is it because the government and its instituitions themselves do not have trust and faith in the governement institutions ?
Bugtis are being victimised unnecessarily, I believe.
There is no doubt that these people maintain illegal stockpiles of weapons and explosives which they use against the people and government interests when they are not in power.
While we are celebrating the “independence Day” the Baloch leader’s houses are raided by the army. Why is army in Baluchistan against the wishes of Baloch people? The army is the problem and cause, not the solution to the situation in Baluchistan for decades. It is very easy for the ISI and police to recover weapons from anybody’s home, should they want to. We Pakistanis malign and rightfully so that the US invaded Iraq and could not fine weapons of mass destruction. If it were Pakistani army and police they would have found anything they wanted. Everybody knows full well what I am saying here? On this Independence Day, the army should come out of Baluchistan and take care of the problems from north of Pakistan to the south. These Baloch nationalist leaders are not supporting the terrorists and suicide bombers. Our real enemies are killing innocent people by dozens each day and we are invading Baloch people?
