LAHORE:

Police on Monday launched an investigation into the murder of model Nayab Nadeem who was found dead at her residence in Lahore’s Defence B area under mysterious circumstances two days ago.

Police officials claim the suspected murderer manipulated the crime scene to suggest murder over resistance during a house robbery in the slain model’s residence in DHA.

Sources said police could not find any substantial evidence so far that could suggest the victim had been sexually assaulted.

Initial investigations suggested that the murder may have taken place over a personal dispute or related to property. Police were focusing on angle of murder over personal dispute including inherited property, the police officials added.

Police continued that the suspected robber had broken down a window suggesting as a route of escape and also left the victim completely naked.

Reportedly, the mobile phone of the victim was also missing from the crime scene. This may serve as lead, the officials stated.

The investigators had got access to the slain model’s call data records and were analysing it. “They had also included few into investigations found to be in close contact with the victim”, they added.

Sources added that the mobile theft from crime scene might also be another attempt by the suspected murderer to cover the exact motive behind the crime.

“These days even street/petty criminals avoided taking away mobile with them as it would lead to their bust. The suspect might have picked up the phone from crime scene to impede the investigations process,” police officials elaborated. Further investigation was underway.
