Opens fire with licenced pistol on suspect fleeing with Rs0.45m cash

A citizen shot dead an alleged robber in the Khayaban-e-Sehr area of DHA with his licenced pistol in the jurisdiction of Darakhshan police station on Friday. Later, police reached the scene and recovered looted money amounting to Rs0.45 million.

According to police, two armed men, riding a motorcycle, snatched Rs0.45 million from Nasir Farooq while he was getting into his car after withdrawing money from the bank.

Farooq did not offer any resistance and handed over the money to robbers. As the outlaws were about to flee from the scene, Farooq opened fire killing one of them, and informed the police.

SSP South, Zubair Shaikh said that armed men snatched the money from Farooq outside a bank, who opened fire on looters with his licensed pistol, killing one of them. SSP said, police rushed to the scene and found the looted money on the body of robber who was identified as Zahid Hussain.

SSP further informed that police have also acquired the CCTV footage that clearly shows two men, wearing helmet, snatched the money from Farooq at gun point and tried to run away with the looted money when Farooq opened fire and killed one of them.
