Pakistan Rangers, Sindh arrested five suspects involved in drug trafficking in posh areas of the city and seized huge amount of narcotics and weapons from their possession in a joint intelligence based operation.
According to a statement issued by the Rangers spokesperson, the arrested suspects, Khayal Muhammad, Abdul Hameed, Zarnawaz, Irfan and Zakir, said that they smuggled drugs from Gwadar and Quetta to Defence Housing Authority and other posh areas of Karachi.
The confiscated items included 93kgs hashish, 800gms marijuana and 300gms heroin.
ANF arrests six
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh claimed on Friday to have arrested six drug peddlers and suppliers in separate operations in the city.
The arrested individuals were booked in separate cases. According to the ANF officials, 6.5kgs heroin, 7.5kgs Ice crystals, 16kgs hashish and 200gms ecstasy powder, from the possession of the four suspects arrested by ANF Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Moreover, he said that ANF Clifton arrested another suspect at Pakistan International Container Terminal. Tranquilizer tablets worth millions of rupees, concealed in a container carrying marble booked for Saudi Arabia, were confiscated in this raid, he added.
