KARACHI: The second phase of the census, which will focus on counting people, will start from September 12 and will continue till September 27. Provincial Census Commissioner Noor Muhammad Leghari told The Express Tribune that in Karachi 18,000 to 20,000 employees from the ministries of education and will serve as enumerators. Deputy Census Commissioner Mazhar Jamal said that a total of 40,000 enumerators will be working in the province. Once the selection process of the enumerators and supervisors was over, then the selected enumerators will be trained for three days, from September 22 to 24. During the first phase, enumerators were attacked in certain localities such as Pehalwan Goth, Al-Asif Square near Sohrab Goth and Lyari. Deputy Census Commissioner Mazhar Jamal told The Express Tribune that there would be around 40,000 enumerators working in the province, out of which 20,000 will be allocated to Karachi.
