US, Punjab to set up JWG

KARACHI:

The Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) and the US Embassy in Pakistan have agreed on forming a joint working group to further strengthen bilateral relations and drive economic, trade and investment cooperation to higher levels.

During a visit to the PBIT, US Counsellor for Commercial Affairs John Coronado, US Consulate General Lahore Economic Sector Chief Salvador Molina and Commercial Specialist Hassan Raza discussed ways of enhancing trade and economic relations. PBIT CEO Dr Erfa Iqbal briefed the US delegation on various prospective sectors and numerous potential opportunities for investors in Punjab.

Coronado pointed out that the US was seeking greater access to Pakistan’s market, which would encourage collaboration on many fronts and protect and drive the association and economies of the two nations.
