Sindh education dept passes 7,000 students

Pupils had been awaiting examinations and results for one year

The Sindh Education Department has given the approval to pass 7,000 students of four different categories from Karachi. These students had been awaiting examinations and results for the last one year under the Intermediate Promotion Policy.

This approval was issued in the recent meeting of the education department's steering committee. Subsequently, the preparation of the results of these students was started at the Board of Higher Secondary Education Karachi.

Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) Chairperson Professor Saeeduddin confirmed the decision of the steering committee while speaking to The Express Tribune. He said the results of these 7,000 students will be released in the coming days under the promotion policy.

Last year, the examinations for the students were not held and they could neither be declared passed nor failed. Their academic future remained dependent on a government decision for the whole year and they could not gain admission to universities. As a result, an entire academic year was wasted.

The 7,000 students, to be promoted under the promotion policy, include those who have passed the combined examination (TP combined twelve papers), advance /short subjects, A-level or madrassas examinations.
