Anjum Aqeel case: PML-N lawmaker out of jail on bail

RAWALPINDI:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Anjum Aqeel was released from Adiala jail after obtaining bail in three cases on Saturday.

“I have been implicated in false cases. My political opponents have revived old cases just to malign me,” told reporters soon after his release.

Aqeel secured bail on Thursday in a case in which he allegedly deprived a teacher of his plot despite receiving Rs950, 000.

The MNA was granted bail on August 9 for his escape from police custody on July 15. The PML-N legislator has already obtained an interim pre-arrest bail in the case of alleged corruption of Rs5.75 billion in the provision of land to the National Police Foundation in Islamabad.

Now that Aqeel Awan is free God help Shahbahat Ali, the college teacher, who registered a case against the legislator.
