RAWALPINDI:

A clinic in Gulistan Colony was looted at gunpoint by six armed robbers in the limits of the Civil Lines police station on Monday. The robbers stole Rs0.3 million and six mobile phones from the staff and patients, a spokesperson informed.

The area is known to be a crime hotspot while Potohar SP Tasawwar Iqbal had issued a warning 24 hours ago after a house robbery in Islamabad. According to details, six armed robbers, including a woman, barged into Dr Rizwan’s clinic and looted the staff and patients at gunpoint.

Sources told The Express Tribune that Potohar SP had issued a warning to all SDPOs and SHOs of the Potohar Division last evening about a robbers’ gang active in Islamabad. The SP had also warned that negligence would lead to departmental action.

Iqbal maintained that it was not the same robbers’ gang regarding which he had issued a warning.
