At least four lives were lost in incidents of violence in Faisalabad district on Monday over rows caused by altercations.
Police took custody of the bodies of the victims, including a woman allegedly killed for honour by her brother.
According to police, 19-year-old Obaidullah, son of Qari Muhammad Akram, a resident of 258RB area of Dijkot, was allegedly murdered by Muhammad Usman son of Khalil Ahmed. The suspect is 16-year-old and a resident of the same village.
As per police report, the victim was gunned down near Tufail Town when he was returning home after visiting a friend. The suspect fled the scene after the incident.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Imam Qari Akram, the father of the victim, said five days earlier the suspect had threatened to kill his son and had opened fire on him after which the family had reported the incident to Dijkot police.
“The police did not take any action against the assailant, emboldening him and leading to the murder,” the aggrieved father alleged.
The heirs of the victims blocked Samundri Road throughout the night after the homicide and chanted slogans against Dijkot police’s failure to protect the teenager despite knowing about the serious threat.
The higher officials of the police department met the protesters, assured them of police support and persuaded them to clear the road.

In a separate incident, Khawar alias Allah Ditta, Sanbal Rai, Hafiz Irshad, Aqib, Asif and six others allegedly shot dead Haq Nawaz, son of Karam Elahi, at a shop near a petrol pump in village 367GB over a land purchase dispute.
Police said 30-year-old Mahmood, son of Maqsood Ahmed, and Akram, son of Ahmed Ali, were also critically wounded when the assailants opened fire at the deceased. The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Rodala road police handed over the body to the family of the deceased after postmortem examination and registered a murder case against the nominated suspects.
As per sources, the victim had an altercation with the suspects nearly two weeks ago that led to the deadly attack.
On the same day, in Chak No 450GB, Majid, Amir, Shahid, Zahoor and Ahmed allegedly shot at and killed Naveed Asif to in vengeance.
Sources said the victim was shot dead over a heated exchange of words between two groups that took place a few days back.
Police said Naveed Asif, son of Habibullah, was intercepted and attacked when he was on his way to the outhouse. The attackers later fled the scene. A case has been registered against them and the cops are on the hunt to apprehend the alleged murderers.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Mohammad Akram alias Akro fatally shot his sister over suspicion of bad character.
The incident was reported in Chak No 216 Mohammadwala village near Khurrianwala.
Initial probe suggests the man murdered his 32-year-old sister, wife of Jalaluddin, when she came to live with him at his residence.
The victim was taken to a hospital where she breathed her last, while the brother is on the run to avert legal consequences.
Khurrianwala SHO Inspector Mohsin Basra said the police that registered an ‘honour killing’ case and are raiding different locations to send the absconding sibling behind the bars.
The corpse has been handed over to the family for last rites.
