Musharraf better than democrats (II)

Syed Nadir El-edroos June 22, 2010

LONDON: This is with reference to Ammar Rashid’s article. A country and the processes that keep it afloat are hardly vested in individuals — dictatorship is bad, democracy is good. People who happen to be dictators or democrats have egos and personality problems like everyone else. As a society we need to decide whether we are happy ceding power to individuals based on the lapels on their shoulders, or whether we want a say in the decisions being made by politicians. Politicians are a reflection of society. If they are corrupt and dishonest, then maybe we as an electorate are not making the most of our roles as decision makers.
