MULTAN:

The Seraikistan youth parliament has finalised the map of the new province in Multan. The map was pasted on a billboard put up in front of the Prime Minister Camp in Multan on Friday.

Local movements nominated Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, as chief minister of the new province. Abdul Qadir is currently a member of the Punjab provincial assembly from Rahim Yar Khan.

While there is no indication of the Prime Minister Camp or Abdul Qadir Gilani approving of such announcements inscribed on the banners and placards, they have not countered the move.

The map of the new province includes about 20 districts of Southern Punjab and some from K-P. More than 13% of the country’s population speaks Seraiki. Bahawalpur has been included in the map for the new Seraiki province, along with Tank and Dera Ismail Khan from K-P.

The districts of Sindh and Balochistan, where Seraiki is spoken, are not included in the map.
