FAISALABAD:
Hundreds of growers held a rally on Friday to protest against the non-availability of diammonium phosphate (DAP) and urea.
Growers belonging to Ameen Pur and its adjoining villages blocked Faisalabad-Ameen Pura Road after Friday prayers and burned tyres.
They said that urea price had gone up from Rs850 to over Rs2,000 per bag.
They said that they could not start their work for sugarcane and rice crops for the next season because of the non-availability of DAP and urea.
They demanded that the government should ensure the supply of DAP, urea and other inputs at subsidised rates.
