Suspect allegedly took help of his sister to commit murder

A woman and her daughter were poisoned to death in Basirpur, a town of Okara on Wednesday.

According to the police report, the suspect took the help of his sister to kill his wife and stepdaughter by feeding them poisonous wheat pills.

However, the killer escaped with his sister while police have registered a murder case against the suspects.

Sources said Ghulam Rasool along with his sister Sheeman Bibi killed his wife Sakina and 12-year-old step-daughter by forcefully feeding them with poisonous wheat-pills at a petrol pump in Basirpur town of Okara. The victim had married the suspect Ghulam Rasool after the death of her first husband Farooq. The victim had two children from her first husband, which were living with her mother.

Ghulam Rasool tortured his wife over a domestic dispute and later, along with his sister killed his wife and stepdaughter by feeding them with poisonous pills and escaped.

Earlier this year in April, a man allegedly killed his wife after prolonged domestic disputes in the Gulshanabad area of Hasilpur, Punjab.

Kulsoom Bibi, a 32-year-old resident of the Gulshanabad area of Hasilpur, was shot in the head by her husband Muhammad Sharif, reportedly due to domestic disputes.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, the area police rushed to the spot and started a preliminary investigation. Kulsoom’s husband initially claimed that some unknown persons had killed her.
