Leave our Muslim land, you baby killers: Abdur Rehman from 'Ertuğrul' calls out Israel
Nightly unrest at the Al Aqsa Mosque compound in annexed east Jerusalem left more than 700 Palestinians wounded, drawing international calls for de-escalation and sharp rebukes from across the Muslim world.
Following this, on Monday Hamas warned Israel to withdraw all of its forces from the compound and the east Jerusalem district of Sheikh Jarrah, where evictions of Palestinian families have fuelled protests.
Israel and Hamas then exchanged heavy fire on Tuesday, with at least 25 Palestinians killed in Gaza. Among them, were nine children along with 125 wounded individuals, local health authorities said, reported AFP.
Since then, several Pakistani celebs have condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza and the recent attack on the Al Aqsa mosque. And after Bella and Gigi Hadid called out Israel for its ‘terrorist’ activities in Palestine, Turkish actors have also condemned the oppression.
Abdul Rehman actor Celal Al from Diriliş: Ertuğrul, in a heart wrenching post on his social media, dubbed Israel a terrorist state that kills Muslim children, among other things. Taking to his Instagram, Al wrote, “Terrorist Israel! Baby killer Israel killed innocent babies and children during Ramadan with bombs. Masjid Al-Aqsa and our Muslim brothers are not alone. Murderer Israel, get out of Palestine which is Muslim land!”
Engin Altan Duzyatan, Gülsim Ali and Esra Bilgiç also shared posts informing their followers about the oppression in Palestine on their Instagram stories.
While Pakistani actors Adnan Siddiqui, Ayesha Omar and Ali Zafar also spoke up against the atrocities in Palestine. Resonating Al's sentiments, the Meray Paas Tum Ho actor tweeted, “Brutalising women and children in this despicable act of violence is totally unacceptable. The world can’t stand idly by. Speak for #Palestine for the sake of humanity, if nothing else."
Bulbulay actor and host Omar added, “I stand with Palestine. I stand with humanity. It’s is absolutely heartbreaking to see what’s happening there. Innocent children and babies are being killed. #AlAqsaMosque is burning. Praying for all the innocent souls suffering, let’s pray for all of humanity. #FreePalestine.”
Zafar, on the other hand, asked the world to wake up, “Heartbreaking, painful, unacceptable, unthinkable. Words can never be enough, silence deplorable. Wake up O’ dear world. Wake up for humanity. #AlAqsa.”
