Exports to Afghanistan rise

Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan during July-April 2020-21 have grown by 15% to $869 million, announced Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. In a series of tweets on Monday, he said that the country had shipped goods worth $754 million during July-April 2019-20. “Exports of fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy products, chemicals, electrical equipment, machinery, paper and paperboard have contributed to this increase,” the adviser said. “We continue to encourage legal, secure, transparent, consistent and reliable trade with Afghanistan.” He urged exporters to aggressively market their products to Afghanistan. The adviser commended the efforts of the trade and investment counsellor and requested him to provide even greater facilitation for the exporters.
