Two suspected robbers were arrested after an alleged encounter with the Bin Qasim Police on Saturday night.
One of the two arrested suspects was shot and injured during the exchange of fire while another suspect managed to escape, said police.
According to Malir SSP, three robbers were attempting to flee after snatching valuables from citizens but were intercepted by cops patrolling in the area.
The suspects opened fire at the police, claimed the SSP, adding that the patrol team opened retaliatory fire as they chased them down on motorcycles.
The injured robber, identified as Ali Raza, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital under police custody.
