Suspect strangled child to death, abandoned body

Police have apprehended the aunt of the boy murdered in Ghaziabad area whose dead body was recovered from an empty plot.

Police claimed the suspect Sundas Bibi confessed to killing her two-year-old nephew out of jealousy. The family of the victim had registered a complaint with the police to investigate the whereabouts of the missing child.

Upon investigation, police found the corpse of the missing minor in an empty plot in Ghaziabad area and informed the heirs.

The initial probe conducted by the cops pointed out that the victim was strangled to death and thrown in the plot.

As investigation progressed, police interrogated the family members of the two-year-old. They included the suspect Sundas Bibi in their investigation, when grilled, she confessed to murdering her nephew in fit of envy.

The suspect said she strangled the victim with her bare hands and then dumped him into an empty plot from the roof of her house.

Earlier this month, on April 11 a deranged woman had allegedly strangled her two sons to death near Kamran Park after an altercation with her husband over a domestic issue. Similarly, on February 23 a mother had reportedly set ablaze her two minor children in Mangamandi area after an argument with her husband. The victims had succumbed to the burns. Police had sent both suspects behind bars and launched a detailed probe into the incident.
