JI protest police refusal to register election fraud

JI members staged a protest outside Express News' office against refusal of the police to register election fraud.

LAHORE:

Jamaat-e-Islami members staged a protest outside Express News' office against refusal of the Lahore police to register a case of election fraud.


JI activist Nadeem Abbas Bara complained to Express News that fake ballot papers were being prepared in Fazlia Colony of Lahore to ensure success of the government candidate in the by polls.


Head of JI Iqbal town, Abdul Aziz Abid, said officers at the Ichhra police station refused to register a case, saying they are under political pressure to do so.


JI activists have appealed to the Chief Justice to take action against members of the election commission involved in the fraud. By polls in PP-160 contituency of Lahore are to be held on the June 24.


PML N candidate Malik Saif-ul-Malook and JI candidate Jahangir Bara are contesting the election.
