PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Monday expelled Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) female MPA Nighat Orakzai from the house through sergeants-at-arms when she ignored repeated warnings and kept talking without permission.

Earlier the speaker asked her to either sit silently or go out of the house otherwise she will be expelled. When Nighat Orakzai refused to oblige, he asked the sergeants-at-arms to expel her.

The speaker remarked that Nighat could not be allowed to speak at every session, saying that the house could not be handed over to her.

The house on Monday adopted four resolutions and passed one bill too. PTI’s MPA Ziaullah Bangash tabled a resolution regarding the monetization of Facebook in Pakistan which he claimed will benefit five million people in the country. The resolution was adopted by the house. Special Assistant to CM on Minorities Affairs Wazir Zada tabled a resolution in which he stated that those people who come to Chitral for marriage should obtain an NOC from the District Police Officer (DPO) because poor girls are taken away and then often killed without inviting any attention. This resolution was also adopted by the house.

By the same token, MPA Inayatullah tabled another resolution in which he demanded that the quota system for PATA should be extended for another 20 years. Waqar Ahmad Khan MPA tabled a fourth resolution for extending the scope of Ihsas Programme. Both these resolutions were also adopted.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Ikhtiar Wali strongly protested at the lack of garbage collection staff at his constituency and threatened if the problem was not solved then he will throw the garbage into the houses of ministers.

He blamed that government was using all kinds of tactics in his constituency after the by-elections in which PTI was defeated and rejected by the masses.

He said that one of such tactics was non-provision of staff for garbage collection and cleaning of sewerage.

Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani apologized to the bureaucracy for his harsh attitude towards government officials, adding that he did it for the betterment of the house.
