Inter-Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Secretary Prof Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah has said that IBCC has taken several steps to achieve set targets and maintain its credibility.
The number of bank branches collecting fees for issuing equivalency certificates for the convenience of students during the pandemic has increased from 280 to 1,400.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, the IBCC secretary said that IBCC planned to modernise and improve the quality of the national examination and diagnostic system under PSDP at the national level. A preliminary draft of the Act and Service Structure has also been prepared and sent to the education ministry for approval by parliament.
He further said the e-office project has been launched in IBCC secretary and regional offices. The data of examination boards will be digitised to replace the existing hybrid system with a joint project of NITB and IBCC.
Prof Mallah said IBCC was setting up a Central Bank of Examinations. He said that for the first time in IBCC’s history the award ceremony had been held in President House where position holders of education boards from across the country were honoured.
Besides, a weekly online session has been launched in association with the IBCC Inter Consortium for the promotion of social sciences. He said the entire system has been brought up to international standards which is why IBCC received ISO certification.
The IBCC secretary said a weekly online session ‘IBCC Live with Vice Chancellor’ has been initiated. The objective is career counselling and guidance of college students about to complete their intermediate level.
