Tragedy: Boy drowns in Leh; man held

RAWALPINDI: A boy drowned in the Nullah Leh while he trying to fish a cricket ball from the drainage canal in Civil Lines area on Wednesday. The police sources said Muhammad Khalid, 13, a resident of Gulistan Colony was playing cricket with his friends on the bank of Nullah Leh when his ball fell in the water. While he was trying to fish it out, Khalid lost his balance and slipped into the water. The eye-witnesses informed Rescue 1122, who reached the spot and started searching for the body which had drowned by then. Meanwhile, the same police arrested a man on charges of carrying an unlicensed weapon. The police intercepted Abdul Aziz during patrolling in the area and seized a 12-bore gun and 25 bullets from his possession.
