Eight more die of Covid-19 in Sindh

653 new cases emerged in the province

Eight coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Sindh on Thursday, when 653 new Covid-19 cases emerged in the province, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in statement issued on the day.

The CM said following these developments, the Covid-19 death toll in the province had climbed to 4,541, while the count of total infections reported in the province thus far had increased to 270,962.

He said of the new infections, 383 were reported from Karachi, 76 from Hyderabad, 17 from Sukkur, 15 from Qambar-Shahdadkot and as many from Shaheed Benazirabad, 13 from Naushero Feroze, 12 from Badin and Larkana each, 11 from Shikarpur, 10 from Ghotki, Sanghar and Kashmore-Kandhkot each, nine from Mirpurkhas and as many from Thatta, eight from Dadu and Thatta each, seven from Tando Allahyar, six from Matiari, five from Khairpur, four from Jamshoro and three from Jacobabad.

CM Murad further stated that 389 recoveries were reported on the day, lifting the total number of patients who had regained after contracting the coronavirus in Sindh to 259,388.

Currently, 7,033 Covid-19 patients are under treatment here, the CM said.
