470 new Covid infections detected in Sindh

Pandemic claims three more live in province

KARACHI:

Sindh reported three coronavirus-related deaths on Wednesday, when 470 new Covid -19 cases were detected in the province, according to a statement issued by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on the day.

The CM said following the recent deaths and new cases, the province Covid-19 death toll had climbed to 4,533, and the infection tally to 270,309.

According to him, 262 new cases were detected in Karachi, 73 in Hyderabad, 16 in Badin, 14 in Larkana, 13 in Sukkur, 10 in Matiari, nine in Sujawal and Tando Muhammad Khan each, eight in Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro and Tando Allahyar each, seven in Sanghar, six in Dadu, five in Jacobabad, Khairpur, Mirpurkhas and Shikarpur each, three in Ghotki and one in Kashmore-Kandhkot and Naushero Feroze each.

Besides, the CM said, 466 more Covid-19 patients had regained health, lifting the total number of recoveries in the province to 258,999.

He said 6,777 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in Sindh on the day, with 6,428 in home isolation, 12 in isolation centres and 337 in hospitals. Of them, 310 were critically ill and 38 were on ventilator.
