City admin to monitor Ramazan Bazaars

Officers directed to ensure implementation of Covid-19 SOPs

The district administration has issued a checklist for the officers concerned for monitoring Ramazan Bazaars and ensuring that daily use items are available at the government’s rate. Lahore Division Commissioner Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman said on Monday that every relevant officer must check the display of the electronic price board, rate cards at every stall, cleanliness, proper parking, security, measuring and weighing machines during his visit. He said it would also be mandatory for every relevant officer to ensure availability and best standard of every product in the bazaars. Agriculture fair price shops, chicken, meat, sugar, flour and ghee and cooking oil and availability of all subsidised items must be checked strictly, he said. The commissioner paid visits to Shadman and Barkat Market Ramazan Bazaars along with the additional commissioner, ADC and AC Model Town. He said that 130 stalls were established in Shadman bazaar and its area had been increased due to Covid SOPs.
