A man allegedly raped a 9-year[1]old girl in Christian Colony area of Adhorai village within the limits of Aymanabad police station of Gujranwala, Punjab.
The victim’s father approached the shop and questioned the people.
The girl was seen walking with Qamarul Zaman, a man from the neighborhood. But the man was missing from the village.
Police immediately registered a case on the father’s complaint and the girl was taken to hospital for medical treatment. According to the police report, the 9-year-old daughter of Joseph Masih, an employee of the Metropolitan Corporation, went to the grocery store to buy groceries. When the girl returned home after a while, she was crying.
The girl told her parents that an uncle had abused her. DCP Amir Malik said that the police have arrested the suspect Qamar Zaman and his DNA test is being conducted.

On the other hand, IG Punjab Inam Ghani took notice of the news and demanded a report from RPO Gujranwala Rao Abdul Karim and ordered that the accused should be severely punished.
Separately, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped on gun[1]point in Khurrianwala on Thursday. According to the police, the case filed by Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Jhumra Road Chak No. 187 RB, states that his 14-year[1]old daughter was present in the house when the suspect Haroon Masih entered the house and raped my daughter at gunpoint.
Jhumra police registered a case under Section 376(punishment for rape) PPC. In another incident, a woman who was a resident of Bhatti Jashwan village on the outskirts of Landianwala, was abducted by Akram and three others on her way to fetch fodder from the fields.
The suspects took her to his place where she was raped. While another woman who was travelling by a rickshaw near Chak No. 211 RB on Jaranwala Road, an unidentified rickshaw driver sniffed her drugs due to which she fainted on the way.
The suspect took her to an unknown place where he raped her. He then left her on road in an un[1]conscious condition and fled.
The rape survivor was shifted to hospital in a state of unconsciousness where doctors confirmed that she was abused. Khurrianwala police registered a case against an unidentified rickshaw driver under 376 (punishment for rape) PPC and started searching for him.
Incidents where minors and women are sexually assaulted by suspects are not uncommon in the province. Last month, on 21 March, two minors and a woman were sexually assaulted in Khurrianwala.
A shopkeeper allegedly raped a five-year-old girl on Thursday in Dijkot, Faisalabad. According to the police report, the five-year[1]old daughter of Abdul Rehman went to buy something from a shop when she was assaulted.
In Tariq Colony Razaabad, Abdullah’s 11-year-old brother was allegedly abducted by the suspect Abdullah and two others. Two women were also mo[1]lested in different incidents.
According to one complaint, Muhammad Younis’ 18-year[1]old daughter who was allegedly raped by Shahbaz and two others.
In another incident, a woman accused her husband Atif of sexual violence in a village near Jhang Road. In another incident in March, a six-year-old boy was injured allegedly after the assailants’ attempt to rape him failed.
Four people, including a police constable, injured the boy during the alleged molestation attempt.
